Shipping information
We use the United States Postal Service (USPS) as our shipper.
Media Mail shipping for US customers is $3.50 for the first book and $1.00 for each additional book. We offer FREE SHIPPING (via Media Mail) for Book orders totalling $25.00 or more (after any discounts and before taxes are applied).
Priority Mail for Domestic Book shipments and all International Book shipments are charged a flat rate based on an average book weight. If your book(s) is lighter and costs less to ship than the default rate, you will be charged less for shipping. If your book(s) is heavier than the default rate and requires more than $1.00 over default rate to ship, we will contact you. We will let you know the additional cost required to ship. If you accept the additional charges, we will ship your item(s), if not, we can cancel the order. Or Domestic Priority orders can change the shipping method to Media Mail for heavier book(s).
We can calculate your Priority or International shipping costs prior to order placement. Just email us with the title(s) and we will contact you with the shipping costs. Because we charge actual rates, you most likely will pay less than the default rate. Ex. If you purchase 3 books shipping via Priority, you will not be paying $20.97 (3 x $6.99 default). We will combine & calculate the lowest shipping rate. We don't want to make money on shipping costs, as do many online sellers.
Priority Mail and International shipments for all other items use a shipping calculator. When you order these items, the calculator will provide you with your shipping cost.
Virginia Customers: Items shipping to a Virginia address are subject to a 5% sales tax on total purchase price (item + shipping).
International customers: Duty charged is the responsibility of the buyer.
Shipping Timeframes:
Media Mail is inexpensive but the slowest. Delivery estimates are 3-7 days, sometimes as long as two weeks . However, from past experience, OUR shipments usually arrive in 3-5 days.
International orders take 5-10 days,depending on whether shipped First Class International or Priority Mail International. All International is now via Air, so we choose the least expensive option.
Insurance (optional): We insure our packages through a third party insurer. Cost of insurance is based on value of the shipment. We are able to obtain International insurance coverage to many countries, please contact us to see if your country is one of those covered.
Other shipping information:
We ship within 2 business days of receiving payment. Domestic orders use e-confirmation, the number will be emailed to you upon shipment.
Don is THE shipping expert! All orders are professionally packaged by him, weather and mail carrier proof. We have never had a book damaged in shipping. They are well protected from moisture, damage, cannot be folded in half and stuffed in a mailbox, and will arrive to you in great condition. Unless they are run over by a Mack Truck, and maybe even then they will survive. We did have a customer tell us their package had tire tracks on it....the book was unharmed. Be aware: you should have a box cutter or scissors available to open the package.
